About Us
Michael Stubley is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker who has been practicing since 2004 and gained extensive experience in the areas of counselling, couples therapy and providing professional and clinical services. He spent six years in the Australian Defence Force then went on to receive a Bachelor of Social Work from Curtin University and completed a Masters of Business Administration at the Queensland University of Technology. As a psychotherapist delivering counselling, professional and clinical services, Mike has extensive experience working with people from a broad cross-section of the community and presenting with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, change and transition, addiction, sleep disorders, family and relationship issues, to name a few. Developing and delivering training since 2008, Mike has rolled out numerous programs including co-writing the award-winning Mates in Construction Suicide Prevention Program, developing the Critical Incident Response program for one of Australia's top EAP providers and developing training to address complex issues experienced by staff in remote and challenging environments. He has experience across multiple industries including primary and heavy industry, health and medical, Local, State and Federal Government and the corporate sector. He has delivered a large variety of training and consulting packages including Mental Health Resilience, Psychological First Aid, Peer Support, Ethical Decision Making in Complex Environments, Managing Stress and Trauma in the Workplace, Change Management and Responsible Manager Action workshops. Mike has had extensive experience in mitigating the negative effects of transitional and traumatic change, having delivered frontline counselling, disaster management, organisational development services and executive and leadership coaching to the below to name a few: - Queensland Health during the 2010 and 2011 floods - The Department of Conservation and Land Management WA for the 2012 bushfires in the Southwest - Critical incident response for the Manus Island shooting incident for Broadspectrum in April 2017 - NSW Police for the 2020 bushfires - Coaching and organisational development support to the Executive and Senior Management team for the Queensland Department of Communities in their departmental restructuring - The DHHS Victoria Executive team providing Executive Coaching regarding their COVID response. As a coach, organisational development and critical incident consultant, Mike has provided guidance and support to companies and their leaders both nationally and internationally including, but not limited to, Santos, QGC, Qantas, NSW Police, Australian Border Force, Queensland Corrective Services, BroadSpectrum, Coles Group and Rio Tinto. |
